Andy Buchanan

7th Commonwealth Games Marathon 2022
2 x Australian Cross Country Champion

With personal bests of 8:12 for 3km, 13:58 for 5km, 28:26 for 10km, 1:02:50 for Half Marathon, and has a Marathon P.B of 2:12.23.

Andy Buchanan is one of the best runners in Australia. 

Andy started running as a junior in Bendigo through school competitions and casual weekend races. After a number of Junior State Team selections, Andy started to take his running more serious after finishing school. Since Andy has gradually developed in the last 10 years and has raced over a range of distances from 800m through to the Half Marathon.  Andy has won a number of Victorian Titles on the track and also in his more favoured event, cross country. Andy has also won the Australian Cross Country Championship in 2017 and 2018. Through consistency and smart training, Andy has been able to achieve his running goals and continue to strive for more. Andy already has a depth of knowledge coaching a range of different athletes, who are all chasing different goals.

Remarkably, Andy has spent his long running career injury free and knows how to manage training load with his athletes.

 

Andy's hard work was rewarded by being selected in the Australian team for the 2019 Oceania Championships.
