Guy Walters

Guy began running through school cross country making his first NSW Representative team at the age of 10 competing at the National All Schools Cross Country Championships, an event he would go on to represent every year through school.

Guy was a very successful track runner during his school years, taking out the U17 Australian 3000m championships,
and later on in his junior career across the 1500m and 5000m he was in the top 5 in the country as an Under 20.

Guy has been coached and training partner of Scott Westcott (Australian Olympian - Marathon Representative) since the age of 15 and has learnt valuable lessons that has guided his running and his own personal coaching philosophy
As a senior athlete, Guy has an impressive range of P.Bs across 800m through to the half marathon, including
1:53 (800m), 3:46 (1500m), 8:20 (3km), 14:14 (5km), 29:50 (10,000m), 30:04 (10km road), 1:06:10 (Half).
He has competed overseas and locally at a number of major events, and understands what goes into executing a race plan.

Guy is a big believer in athletes taking a patient and sustainable approach to training," plenty of good training weeks is much better than a handful of awesome ones and then forced rest or injury"

Off the track, Guy is also a full time behavioural support teacher and a new dad to his son Albie and also likes to take his border collie out for the occasional recovery run.
